Dear Parents, Guardians, and School Staff:
New York State Education Law Section 409-H, Effective July 1, 2001, requires all public and nonpublic elementary and secondary schools to provide written notification to all persons in parental relation, faculty, and staff regarding the potential use of pesticides periodically throughout the school year. At Chateaugay Central School we do not normally use any pesticides that would require notification; however, this notice is being sent to comply with the regulations.
The Chateaugay Central School District is required to maintain a list of...see more.
Please click here to find the The District Safety Plan that is posted for a 30 days comment period (July 7, 2026 through August 6, 2026) to comply with the 30-day notice.
This will serve as a public hearing for that notice. You may submit public comment(s) during the 30 day public comment period to Katie Jarvis, District Clerk at k.jarvis@chateaugaycsd.org.
If there are no changes, we will leave the District Plan on the site. Information will be uploaded to the NYSED Portal once Board approved.
The Public Hearing is scheduled to take place on Monday, August 10, 2026 at 7:00pm in the Board of Education Conference Room at Chateaugay Central School.
Hunger affects families in every community—including ours. CCS is sharing information about the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which helps eligible families purchase healthy food and stretch their grocery budgets.
Families who qualify for SNAP may also help support additional funding opportunities for schools and student programs. Applying is free, confidential, and may take only a few minutes.
To learn more about eligibility and how to apply, please visit SNAP Help NY.
You can also apply directly online through myBenefits.ny.gov.
Eligible New York families may receive $120 per child through the Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer (Summer EBT) program to help purchase groceries while school is out for the summer. The program helps ensure children continue to have access to nutritious food when free school meals are not available.
Most eligible children are enrolled automatically.
Returning families: If your family received Summer EBT benefits in 2025, your 2026 benefits will be loaded onto the same EBT card.
New families: If your child is newly eligible, a Summer EBT card will be mailed to your home.
Once benefits are issued, they remain available for 122 days, so families are encouraged to use them before they expire.
To be eligible, a child must attend a school that participates in the National School Lunch Program and meet the income requirements for free or reduced-price school meals. Families whose children are not automatically enrolled but believe they qualify may submit an application by September 8, 2026.
